Electric — The building has three power feeds from the electric utility company AMEREN UE, with power generator and MGE UPS backup. This UPS constantly monitors and regulates the
quality of power coming from the utility so equipment always receives the clean 120-volt power it was designed for. In the event of a power outage, the data center is equipped with a
1500 KVA ONAN diesel generator, tested weekly. When a power outage is detected, the generator starts within 15 seconds and can power 15,000 servers for 36 hours on  one tank of fuel.
HVAC (Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning) — Temperature and humidity are controlled 24x7x365 by redundant cooling systems.
Fire Protection — The data center is engineered to minimize fire damage. It has concrete floors, a steel ceiling, fireproof walls, and steel framed racks. There is no flammable material
inside the data center area. It is equipped with zoned, dry-pipe, pre-action sprinkler systems requiring two or more sensors to activate to prevent accidental discharge. We use
state-of-the-art VESDA system for fire monitoring and protection.
Security — There are four levels of security for physical access to securely hosted servers and equipment in the data center. The first level is code access to the building. The second level is
biometric access to the floor. Employees or data center visitors must pass a biometric palm scanner to gain access to the office. The third level is card reader access to the server area. The
security manager can review such access information at anytime. The fourth level is locked cabinets for all servers.
The data center is also monitored by security cameras and on-site staff 24x7.
Network Connectivity — Gigabit Ethernet to UUNET, Level 3, AT&T and Qwest.
